Intensive Moscow's Attacks Cut Power Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities targeted in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have faced increased strikes in the past few days

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused electricity outages in extensive areas of the capital city, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were injured while residents in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and encountered disruption to water supplies, per reports from city officials.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a separate assault in the southeastern region in the southern area, according to area administrators.

Moscow has escalated strikes on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while officials has called for "real steps" from partner nations to apply pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not window dressing but firm measures - from the United States, European nations and the Group of Seven - in providing air defence systems and applying penalties," was stated in a social media post.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty rockets struck energy facilities, labeling such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Russia was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were laboring to restore power.

A barrage of missiles hit electrical systems and residential structures in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the strikes on the city have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by local officials.

Regional authorities said the urban area came under intense attacks during nighttime hours. A minor died and several individuals were injured.

The attacks succeed nights of bombing campaigns in the territory, parts of which remain under the control of invading troops.

The entire country is under warning for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are harder to identify.

National leaders told journalists that Moscow was intentionally trying to demolish the national power system, with attacks already impacting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated energy workers and government agencies were preparing for additional strikes.
